The artist found his friend, Slim, unconscious, close to death from alcohol addiction. He was 
hospitalized for several days, then returned to his homeless camp to recover. Fortunately that 
was his final drunk, his body had rebelled. Slim hasn't had a drink in 25+ years.
The disease continues without a cure.

Megadeth is the name of a hard rock band. It also refers to the mind of Duke.  Duke is a homeless 
man who controls his territory with violence.  He robs and beats other homeless people for their 
money to support his alcohol and drug habit. Other home free men would protect women and children
from Duke.  This why is why non-profits like Free Art are needed, to provide help to families.

This was the scene that was occurring more often in Slim's life.  As he became sicker, he would drink more until his body would rebel and he would spit up blood for several days.  He would quit drinking, sometimes for months, until his body seemed healed. Then he would go back to drinking.  He was addicted to the stuff.

The Hawaiian is weaving with 3 to 4 feet long leaves from the hala tree (padanus).  The tree is 
sometimes called screw pine.  Hala was used to make baskets, floor mats, sleeping mats and 
to thatch houses.  The sails of the Hawaiian outrigger canoes were even from hala.

Mark Stubbs was hired to shear Larry Twyman's sheep.  Looking on is Larry and his Great Pyrenees 
sheepdog pup, Jefferson.  Mark cut the wool off a hundred and twenty-nine sheep on this back 
breaking day.
