After Hours (series) Part IV „Distribution“ - Sandra Goryla

After Hours (series) Part IV „Distribution“ - Sandra Goryla

It was a little more than 100 years ago that the Spanish Influenza ruled the world, changed, destroyed and led the people towards a new direction. This drawing was made during our actual COVID crisis, and it shows a woman from the past century looking into a weak light. Next to her, in the shadows, you can notice a newspaper showing a headline about Edvard Munch’s infection in 1918/1919. The woman’s pose shows approximately the curve-like course of this deathly flu; a distribution like the Gaussian. To see light is all the woman can do in this artwork. She, as well as we, is waiting optimistically for a better, brighter future. (currently part of a collection - for more info please contact the artist)
